Superheated Water Cleaning
Surface Types

How it works

Surface Types
- Brick & Stone
- Concrete
- Render
- Cladding
How it works
Our modular superheated-water system allows cleaning to be carried out at temperatures of up to 150°C and 160 Bar of pressure. Temperature and pressure can be varied meaning that it has excellent versatility across all building fabrics and substrates. The results speak for themselves.
Chemical Cladding Cleaning
Surface Types

How it works

Surface Types
- Aluminium
- Powder coated
- Plastisol
- PVC
How it works
Often cleaning by water alone cannot product the level of cleaning that is required, particularly on cladding which has not been cleaned for a few years. Our range of cleaning agents are designed to lift grime and staining from the surface before being washed off. We offer a range of coatings that can be applied on completion of the cleaning to reduce the build up of dirt on the façade.
Chemical Cleaning to Traditional Materials
Surface Types

How it works

Surface Types
- Stone
- Brick
- Concrete
How it works
We utilise a range of products on the market to deliver the best results when cleaning traditional substrates such as brick, stone and concrete. The highlighted image shows the use of poultice cleaning which can be very effective both internally and externally. Applied as a paste the active ingredients stay on the surface for longer, softening hard insoluble particulates such as carbon.
Biocide Cleaning

How it works

Surface Types
- Brick & Stone
- Concrete
- Render
- Timber
How it works
This can often be the best solution when the most sensitive clean is required and organic growth is at core of the problem. Surface dwelling red and green algae and deeper penetrating black mould causes unsightly appearances on render, brick and concrete. The softness, particularly of render means that only a light spraying or soft brush application is applicable without damaging the surface. Our soft applications are successful on 99.9% of microbial life and leave no durable environmental footprint.
Window Frame Restoration
Surface Types

How it works

Surface Types
- Powder coated
- Anodised aluminium
How it works
Over time powder coated and anodised aluminium window frames become oxidised, resulting in colour loss and making the frames look tired detracting from the appearance of the building. Our resin coating solutions breathe colour and shine back into frames for a fraction of the price of re-spraying and last up to 5 years.
Cladding Restoration
Surface Types

How it works

Surface Types
- Aluminium
- Powder coated
- Plastisol
- PVC
How it works
The cleaning of cladding can be very effective, but to guarantee the building looks at its best for longer, the application of a cladding restorer can be very effective. In addition to reviving the colour of faded panels, the application of these specialist coatings improve the water shedding capabilities of the cladding, helping to reduce the build up of grime and slowing down the re-growth of organic matter.
Paint Striping & Removal
Surface Types

How it works

Surface Types
- Brick
- Stone
- Concrete
How it works
Our non-toxic, biodegradable paint removing system, is designed to be absorbed by the paint, causing the layers to swell. This can then be lifted from the surfaces using superheated water. Problems arise on painted stonework and brickwork when water getting into the substrate is prevented from evaporating by the painted layer. When freeze-thaw affects occur significant damage can be done to the brickwork and stone. Our highly effective system has been used to remove paint to allow for essential repairs and also to improve the aesthetics of a building.
Frame & Cladding Re-Spraying
Surface Types

How it works

Surface Types
- Anodised aluminium
- Powder coated
- Plastisol
How it works
In some instances window frames and cladding cannot be restored using our resin coating systems as the coloured coatings have been lost from the surface. In this instance we can re-spray the impacted areas to deliver as good as new results which are guaranteed for a minimum of 5 years.
Window Restoration

How it works

Surface Types
- Anodised aluminium
- Powder coated
How it works
A common problem that we find on metal windows is overtime the ironmongery and gasket wear out causing drafts and water ingress to a building. We offer bespoke solutions to replace ironmongery and gaskets and have the capability to develop and manufacture parts for install. From hinge replacement, to gasket design and internal locking systems, we offer a broad range of design solutions.
Cut Edge Corrosion
Surface Types

How it works

Surface Types
- Profile metal sheeting
- Asbestos cement sheeting
- Roolight laps sealing
- Gutter joint seals
How it works
Overtime, exposed metal starts to rust and corrode. If left unchecked the corrosion causes joints to fail and water ingress occurs. Our cut edge corrosion solutions are highly successful and a fraction of the cost of roof replacement options.
Graffiti Protection
Surface Types

How it works

Surface Types
- Marble
- Granite
- Sandstone
- Concrete
How it works
Graffiti protection systems are suitable for almost all facades. They are invisible, sacrificial and vapour permeable so they allow your building to breathe. Once applied they give protection for up to 10 years and better still they protect the building from atmospheric pollution so your building stays cleaner for longer.
Rope Access
Where Required

How it works

Where Required
- Tall buildings
- Tight locations
- Road locations
How it works
Often when access to a roof or façade is difficult, we will use rope access to carry out our work. Our trained IRATA technicians can access the outside of almost all buildings without the cost and disruption of traditional scaffolding solutions.
Truck Mounted
Where Required

How it works

Where Required
- Tall buildings
- Large outreach
How it works
Truck mounted access can be a very successful way of reaching very high locations or locations that need a large amount of outreach. The basket size can accommodate a number of operatives and the computer aided controls ensure maximum safety at all times.
Specialist Spider Access
Where Required

How it works

Where Required
- Undulating ground
- Soft ground
- Tight locations
How it works
With the ability to fold up and fit through a standard door but reach levels up over 30m, we are finding more and more use for these specialist machines. So whether the ground below the building is tight, or there is a courtyard that needs to be reached, our spider solutions are always worth considering.
Scaffolding
Where Required

How it works

Where Required
- Undulating ground
- Tight locations
- Long duration of works
- Roof safety solution
How it works
We still have much use for scaffolding requirements on our day to day projects. Often when we are carrying out restoration repairs, or roof works, we will install a scaffolding to allow safe and constant access to the building. Whilst typically more costly than other access solutions, scaffolding does allow more effective access for some of our more trickier restoration projects.
