Cladding Cleaning and Restoration

This residential building in Southsea, Portsmouth had never had it’s cladding cleaned.  Access to the building was particularly difficult as there were no anchor points on the roof an the rear of the property was flanked by a railway line.

Working with the Housing Association and Network Rail, Reeda delivered a successful cladding cleaning project which involved both mechanical and rope access solutions.

Reeda were engaged to carry out the full external dilapidation works on this combined warehouse and office facility. Working to a very tight deadline, the external cladding was hand painted to the front of the building with the rear elevation re-sprayed from scaffolding.

On completion of these works, edge protection to the roof was erected with safety netting installed internally beneath the skylights. The roof was then given a full clean before being treated for cut edge corrosion throughout.

The glazing system to the offices were refurbished with new ironmongery and glazing replaced where required. The frames were then re-sprayed both, internally and externally, before replacing old mastic with new throughout.

Despite challenging weather conditions, the building was delivered back to the client on time and with all dilapidation works completed to a high standard.

Reeda were engaged as part of a full refurbishment project to carry out a complete external building clean of this office development in Bolton.   Over time the white cladding had become stained by organic growth and leaching from window frames.

Reeda completed a full clean and cladding restore of the building with main entrance doors to the building restored back to their original condition.

Following the procurement of this old office building, Reeda were engaged by Brighton University to run a number of tests on the façade.  The aim was to improve the thermal performance of the building and develop a specification for refurbishment.

Window frames were opened and bespoke gaskets and ironmongery were designed to improve the buildings performance. On completion of the design the frames were air pressure and water tested to establish the level of improvement attained.

Intrusive tests of the cladding were made to allow for the analysis of the substrate, with painted coatings removed to establish the extent of the damage to the existing panels.
